Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkoma Grant Will
Ensure Healthy Snacks for Children’s Shelter Residents

Thanks to a $9,855 grant from the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkoma, kids at the Children’s Shelter will be eating healthier next year. Under the Shelter’s new Healthy Snacks Program, children will be ensured a healthy snack option such as fresh fruit and vegetables, yogurt and cheese, every evening.
According to Frankie Rankin, Annual Campaign Manager at the Shelter, “Because of the cost, it is difficult for us to provide these foods to children on a daily basis. The grant from RMHC will help cover the cost of one year’s worth of healthy snacks for an average of 27 children served per day.”
“Having access to a healthy snack seems so simple to most of us, but that isn’t always the case for children in Northwest Arkansas. We are pleased to provide this grant to the Children’s Shelter to ensure that these kids are getting that access on a daily basis,” said Lindsey Gibson, Executive Director of RMHC of Arkoma.
