“While it is truly heartbreaking to see children enter the shelter who have had their innocence stolen through abusive or neglectful behavior by the very people they trust the most, I take great comfort in knowing our staff and community provide the highest level of support anywhere in the region. Each of the 325 children we serve on a yearly basis has a unique story; however, equally compelling is the story of the 900 children we must turn away because we lack the space to provide for them."
