“Give Every Child a Chance to Heal” Capital Campaign
kicked off with $2.5 Million Donation from Wal-Mart!

Wal-Mart’s gift announcement was made at a press
conference held Monday, January 21st, at the Shelter.


Todd & Shelley Simmons Pledge $200,000
to Children’s Shelter Campaign

Todd & Shelley Simmons of Siloam Springs announced today a pledge of $200,000 to the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter’s “Give Every Child a Chance to Heal” capital campaign. The Simmons, who serve as co-chairmen for the campaign, have been involved with the Shelter for over 10 years, as supporters and through Shelley’s service as Past President of the Board of Directors and as a Board Member Emeritus.

 
First Western Bank
Pledges Support
With $25,000 Gift

First Western Bank of Rogers and
its employees recently made a
$25,000 donation to the
Children's Shelter capital campaign.
"We are excited to be able to help
the kids and meet their ongoing needs,"
said Nathan Gairhan, First Western
Regional President.

$25,000 to Campaign

Signature Bank has announced that
they are making a $25,000 donation
to the Children's Shelter capital campaign.
According to Gary Head, Chairman and
CEO of Signature Bank,
"As a community bank, we feel it is not
only our honor, but also our duty to help
the Children's Shelter in their mission
of providing a safe and nurturing
atmosphere of hope for children in crisis."

Kimberly-Clark Donates
$50,000 to Campaign

Kimberly-Clark Corporation recently
announced a $50,000 challenge gift
to the Children's Shelter campaign,
matching each dollar given up to
the full gift amount.

According to Tony Dunning, VP of
Global Consumer Sales and Customer
Development, "At Kimberly-Clark,
we take our commitment to supporting
and enriching the lives of families and
people in Northwest Arkansas very
seriously. Through this donation, we
hope to extend our care as a
company to our community's most
vulnerable children."
Arvest Banks Join Together
For $50,000 Gift

Arvest Banks of Bentonville, Rogers,
Fayetteville, Springdale, Siloam
Springs and Prairie Grove have
joined together to pledge a gift
of $50,000 to the Shelter's capital
campaign. "As a community based
bank, we make it a priority to invest
time and resources in the
communities where we live," said
Bob Boehmler, Executive VP/Loan
Manager of Arvest Bank,
Bentonville, and member of the
campaign leadership team.
 
Anonymous Donors Give Boost to Campaign

Four donors who wish to remain anonymous recently pledged gifts in the amounts of $500,000, $400,000, $200,000, and $100,000 to the Children's Shelter capital campaign, for a total of
$1.2 million. The Shelter is extremely grateful to these individuals for the commitment and support shown through these very generous gifts!


Walton Family Foundation
Gives Gift of $500,000


On May 24th, the Children's Shelter announced a gift of $500,000 to the capital campaign by the Walton Family Foundation. This gift will be used to help establish the endowments necessary to support the Shelter's new emergency facility. "We are extremely grateful for the support the Walton Family Foundation is showing to the Shelter and the future of Arkansas children through this generous gift," said Director Tim Nichols.


Procter & Gamble Announces Campaign Gift

Procter & Gamble has announced it's support of the Children's Shelter capital campaign
with a gift of $52,500! According to Jeff Schomburger, President of Procter & Gamble
Customer Business Development, "The Children's Shelter is doing great work by giving hope to
children in our community that are in crisis. We feel honored to be associated with helping
the Children's Shelter achieve their goals."


Tyson Foods Gives to the Campaign


Raul Lagos of Tyson Foods presented Shelter Director Tim Nichols a check for $50,000 in early November, as the first payment on Tyson's $150,000 pledge to the Shelter's Capital Campaign. Tyson Foods has provided chicken to the Shelter for the past ten years, and has also served as a sponsor for the annual Run For A Child (2007 & 2008) and the Starlight Charity Ball (2004 & 2005). Many Tyson employees also contribute to the Shelter through volunteering and donations of toys and other supplies. Thank you, Tyson Foods, for your long-time commitment and support!
