Childcare A childcare volunteer works with and assists staff as they care for and interact with the children. This volunteer may rock an infant, read stories to a toddler, talk with a teen, join in a game of basketball, or lead a craft activity.
Education Program
An education volunteer may assist teachers in the classroom, help residents with homework, or work with the Educational Assistant to provide physical education, art, music, health or other informational classes.
Special Programs
Special programs volunteers help to provide quality programs and special activities for the children at the shelter. In addition, they may assist with housekeeping or maintenance. Decorating for special occasions, baking birthday cakes, mending, and vehicle maintenance are just a few of the ways these volunteers contribute.
If you are interested in volunteering at the NWA Children's Shelter or have questions regarding the volunteer program, please contact Eva Laurin, Volunteer Coordinator, at (479) 795-2417.
